The Vacancy
Reporting to the Market Surveillance Manager, the Cosmetic Products Inspector will be primarily responsible for evaluating the compliance of cosmetic products and of national operators involved in the cosmetic industry.
The role of the Cosmetic Products Inspector is to evaluate the compliance of:
Cosmetic products and their related Product Information Files (PIFs) including Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs)
Distributors and manufacturers of cosmetic products, and
Responsible Persons (RPs) of cosmetic products
with the requirements of national legislation, European Regulations and relevant guidance.
This is a dual faceted role, involving both desk-based investigations and reviews, and also on-site inspections. The Cosmetic Products Inspector will also assist in the management of investigations of non-compliant cosmetic products brought to the attention of the HPRA as necessary.
This role requires confident decision-making, excellent communication skills, particularly in the presentation of scientific data, flexibility and the ability to respond to changing priorities. The Cosmetic Products Inspector will work closely with the other members of the cosmetics team, the wider Market Surveillance Section, GMP/GDP inspection and Enforcement teams and any other sections of the HPRA that require support.

How is your information processed and shared?
Your information may be shared with organisations who provide services to the HPRA, e.g. HR advisors, expert panel members, legal advisors.
The HPRA uses third party service providers and suppliers (also known as data processors) in order to carry out both our regulatory functions and other related matters. These third parties process personal data on behalf of the HPRA and appropriate arrangements are in place with them to protect personal data.
Your data will be transferred to third countries including the UK, USA and India. The European Commission has granted an adequacy decision to the UK which recognises that the country provides an equivalent level of data protection to that guaranteed under EU law. Other measures to protect your data are in place in relation to data transferred to the US and India and you may contact the HPRA at the details below or our data processor IRIS-Networx for further information on these measures.
Your personal data will be stored for 18 months after the vacancy you apply for has closed. After this period, it will be fully anonymised.
